Hello all: my name is Quentin Schul. Above all I am a Christian. I was raised in Church, my family did me right. I fell away from God though after my first deplyment. I suffered from emptiness and loneliness. I went from fifteen months in Afghanistan to my duty station of Germany. After I was back in Germany for a month my Fiance broke up with me. I felt that my future had been torn from my grasp. Above everything else I felt alone.
I knew that there was a God. I knew God personally. I had felt the effects of him in my life. I had seen him perform miracles im my life and the lives of my friends and family. I knew what he had done for me...and yet I turned my back on him and I choose to sin against him. I choose to remain alone in the world instead of relying on God to pull me through. I needed a change and I needed fast. the path that I was on was distuctive and hurtful to myself as well as my loved ones.
I requested to be reassigned to Fort Hood where I would be close to home (a three hour drive). but even though I was home and even though I was in church I still felt empty. in February of 2009 I rededicated my life to Christ and the following week I reinlisted for six more years. I am a Chaplain Assistant in the US Army. I do this to serve God and Country. I am really close to my parents and my siblings are my best friends.
God has blessed me with a family that supports me and who loves me even when I don't love myself. I haven't yet been blessed with a wife, but I konw that God has a plan for me, and in His time, God will give me a woman to share my life with. until then...I will focus on my job and my ministry, my school and my family. I will wait patiently for God's Plan to reveal itself to me.
If anyone, is feeling empty (as I was in Germany). all you have to do is ask God to come into your heart and to be with you. realize that you are a sinner (as everyone is) and know that Jesus died on the cross for those sins and he took our place in hell so that we wouldn't have to. three days later he rose from the grave with the key to the gates of hell. he walked on this earth to testify the truth. and when his time was done he accended to heaven to His Father's side. One day, he will return for his people and, we too, will rise to spend eternity in heaven proclaiming that Jesus is Lord.
